Abstract

|
Cecal volvnlus is a uncommon condition of acute intestinal obstruction in which there is torsion or twisting of distal ileum, cecum and ascending colon sufficient to result in partial or complete obstruction to the lumen, which in turn may be followed by varing degrees of circulating impairment to the wall.
Early diagnosis is essential to the success of its surgical treatment.
We experienced a case of cecal volvulus in 41 years old female patient which was treated successfully by right hemicolectomy and ileocolos:omy and a brief review of the literatures was also made.
